Wines and Wine Tastings in Calabash

Our approach to wine and wine tastings is simple: they have to be accessible to everyone.

So whether you’re a wine enthusiast who knows their pinots from their elbows, or you’re just starting out with wine, you’ll feel welcome at Calabash Art, Curios and Wine.

You’ll find a wide selection of wines produced in the best vineyards domestically and abroad, including wines from some familiar names, as well as wines you won’t find anywhere else in Brunswick County.

Wine surprises

Forrest spends a lot of time digging through the catalogs of our wine distributors. He loves finding wines you might not have heard of but are certain to love. Sometimes he even discovers something among a distributor’s wines that their own reps have overlooked.

Our wines come from the main wine regions in the USA, Argentina, Chile, South Africa, and Europe (including wines from France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Portugal).

Enjoy your wine where you want

You can enjoy a glass (or more) on the premises at our wine bar while browsing the art, or buy a bottle or two to take away to enjoy at home.

And there’s no rush. Why not sit out in one of the rocking chairs on our porch and relax, sip your wine, and watch the gentle life of Calabash go by?

Our famous free Thursday wine tastings

Our wine tastings are a social highlight of the week here in Calabash.

Join us every Thursday from 4-7PM, when we’ll introduce you to half a dozen or so wines. No booking required. Just turn up, join in, and get talking to wine fans from our local community.

We get 75 to 150 people every week. We’re never sure whether it’s the wine that’s bringing them in or the friendly social buzz.

What we do know is that many solid friendships were made around our wine bar at our tastings. And many new people in town were made to feel at home.

You might enter the wine tasting as a stranger, but you won’t leave as one.
